Tassie Day 11 – Coles Bay to Port Arthur (Tasman Peninsula)

A little sleep in was needed after last nights late night at the hostel and my bottom bunk buddy moving around, shaking the bunks all night.

We had a relatively long drive (in tassie terms) to reach our next lot of itinerary items this morning and first up was the Tessellated pavement in Eaglehawk Neck. I don’t really no how to explain it other than the rocks along the waters edge look like pavers and I have photos below..

After our later start today, longer drive and stop at Eaglehawk Neck it was lunch time by this point so we grabbed a quick bite, nothing special then continued on with our day.
Next stop Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen which are both really cool and worth a visit. Also in the same street is the Waterfall Bay walk which is considered a Tasmanian top short walk. This wasn’t originally on the plan for the day but it was only about an hour return and the views of the cliffs meaning the ocean is quite beautiful.

We managed to lock in some accommodation in Port Arthur for the night so we decided to check in and drop off our things. Once checked in it was still kind of early and Port Arthur Historical Site was just around the corner so we decided to buy our tickets and spend an hour or two exploring the grounds. Tickets are valid for two days so whatever we did not see we will make time for Friday.

Back at our accommodation it was shower and get ready for bed time. Night.
