Melbourne Weekend – Day 3

Another 9.15am start today and another awesome sleep 🙂

We had to check out by 10am so we got ready and gathered up our things to take down and leave at reception while we killed some time before our flight back home. After dropping off our stuff we made sure to visit Harley Heaven next door which I had been wanting to visit all weekend so I could take a few pictures for my dad of the Harleys and Triumphs on display.

After Harley we caught the tram down to Little Flinders Lane to explore the famous melbourne food lanes which was another bucketlist item I wanted to tick off before leaving Melbourne. If you’ve never been to Melbourne, when you do you should definitely make time for at least one meal in either Centre Place or Degraves Lane which are both off Little Flinders Lane opposite the street from one another. These lames are full of little places to eat at all times of day. We ended up choosing RMB Cafe in Degraves which had a huge selection of food. My choice was the seafood pasta, Erin got the healthy breakfast and Trent the spicy eggs. All looked good and I thought mine tasted quite good.

After brunch we had time to kill so we wandered our way back through the linked arcades and malls like we did yesterday but this time visiting the Block Arcade too which is beautifully done. Inside we found Haigs chocolate which Trent had been hoping to visit so we went inside for a look at all the goodies they had to offer. Unfortunately I can’t have dairy so I settled for coconut covered roasted marshmallows while the other two bought chocolate. On our way through emporium we came across an Adriano Zumbo macaroon shop which has always provided me with great macaroons in Sydney so I thought yep, box for the plane for sure! 6 flavours please!.. Again we ended up back in Melbourne Central since we were still killing time, Trent didn’t seem happy about this, he had been Mr Silent Treatment for the past 24 hours.. Such a grumpy shithead haha.. Anyway it was lucky we did end up back there because I found a super cute little ring that I ended up buying which was great, I’m satisfied 🙂

Time to begin our journey home again so we headed back to the hotel to grab our bags, jumped in a cab and went to southern cross station to catch the sky bus. While we waited for the bus we make a quick snack stop in Coles and had a little look at Spencer Street Outlet Mall which is almost exactly the same as our one back home so we didn’t really bother too much. Time to head to the airport so I grabbed some sushi to go and we jumped on the Skybus.
On arrival at the airport we attempted to check in using their self service system but typical Tiger airlines that was a fail so we had to queue up anyway. I thought it was probably a good idea to eat my sushi before going through security so I sat down and ate while they waited in line. Finally bag check in done, security done, waiting in Tigers dodgy cheap terminal done and plane boarding done.. Next stop Sydney.

Landing in Sydney we had about an hour and a half to grab our luggage and get over from domestic to international to catch our Murrays couch home. We went outside and jumped on Sydney airports Tbus which took us around to the international terminal. Seeing as we were making good time we decided to stop off at Pie Face, mmmm pies! I got a steak and mushroom, delish! After waiting quite some time and the bus running late we finally got on and we were headed home 🙂
