Day 3 – Kuranda Skyrail & Scenic Train (Cairns)

Another reasonably early start today, we got up and ready to be picked up at 7.30 for our Kuranda day tour. A little tired and grumpy from the drunk loud female dog (not an actual dog, trying to use the politest term I could think of) next door who so far every night has come home at 3am and yelled outside our door.

Our bus arrived on time and we set off to Freshwater Station to board our train. The train road is approx 1.5 hours stopping at Barron falls and passing by many beautiful views.
The train ride ends at Kuranda village where there are shops, animal attractions and food, we had a stroll around before finishing our stroll at the Kuranda Hotel for lunch. Again I got a pint of cider with my chicken schnitzel because it was one of those days.

After lunch we headed down to the Skyrail station were we jumped on a Skyrail. The views are fantastic with the Skyrail stopping around every 15 minutes to let you off for an explore and a lookout of the surround scenery.

Finally we end up at our end destination at 2pm but aren’t booked to be on our return shuttle to the hotel until 4pm, screw that! It’s ridiculously hot, I have a headache, I gotta buy a gopro cable, I got shit to book for tomorrow and finally I wanna hang out in the pool all arvo… We are getting on this bus! Thankfully we got on no worries after many worries and headed back to our hotel.

After a quick stop at Officeworks because I forgot my gopro cable we chilled in the room for a bit looking at some footage before heading out in search of dinner. We ended up settling for pho which was quite good then headed home for a shower and soon bed.

Goodnight, weather xx
